I received your letter sometime ago but as I'm a teacher now instead of a student I have an awful lot to do. As you will see I'm teaching in both H.S. and grades.
This Mon. and Tues is Farmer's Inst. here and I had to get up the music. So you can see I have been busy. Then I am also teaching music in private lessons. I now have 14 students besides I'm taking violin up myself so you may know how much time I have for writing letters.
This coming Friday eve. we four lady teachers are giving a Halloween Party at the H.S. gym so this week is boing to be exceedingly busy. yesterday (Saturday) we went to an Inst. at [Milledgeville] Ill. We didn't have to go but just went to see the country. We were in an $100,000 new school house. It was about the best looking one I've seen yet. They just dedicated it last Friday night.
Last Sunday we went to Mt. Carroll to a park. The main feature of the park (outside of the large bluffs which we call mountains) being an large cave. To get into the cave we had to cross a small stream on an hanging bridge. Talk about sensations it and the cave sure supplied you with all you wanted.
Mamma said in her last letter that your folks had their house about completed. I suppose you would like to see it. When are you going home? We leave nine weeks from last Friday for home. As you probably know that is Xmas. Ha.
We have been to Iowa since coming out here. The Miss. is a very common sight. We want to go to Wisconsin sometime as its only about 40 mi from here.
Well must close. You said that Clark was cojming to I.U. the 19th. I suppose you will be some happy girly. Are you planning Xmas presents? I started but with so much other just stopped in disgust. Write when you have time. Love
